I heard about Camasa, the niche clothes brand created by the extremely savvy Varsh Sethi as soon as she launched it. However, I deliberately postponed checking it out for a number of reasons. My closet is chock full of clothes and accessories. I no longer follow trends. Nor do I buy readymades as I am vertically challenged.

I eventually went to her charming atelier planning to pick up a white shirt that a mutual friend raved about. Incidentally Camasa is a Romanian term for upper body garments with collars and buttons. Varsha has kept this in mind because all her shirts feature unusual collars, sleeves and sometimes eye-catching buttons. Once I got there, I realized that I was spoilt for choice. Her edited line of garments in interesting prints and unusual mostly happy colours are well displayed. What's more, the fabric options are neatly stacked on multiple shelves.

"You don't have to worry about being short. I am short too" said Varsha smiling disarmingly. In the end I ended up buying not just the white shirt but several other strikingly different separates that can be worn either together or on their own.

Her prints are fabulous. Her vibrant color palette is unusual. These are clothes for women who lead busy lives and want day into evening wear. They are simple and unadorned, leaving the wearer free to accessorize according to their mood and the occasion. She does make shirts for men as well.

I am now a total Camasa fan
